Olde Blue Bell Cottages offer the ideal Lake District holiday cottages for walkers – being based in area blessed with endless walking opportunities for all, young families to serious walkers alike. There are many books written on the fell walks of the Lakes, the Wainwrights being the most famous, but there are also numerous other stunning walks that can take as little as 30 minutes and still offer the most amazing views and scenery.
Here I have listed just a couple of the local walks which are accessible to all, and have the most outstanding views.
For hardened walkers check out the Kentmere Round, a strenuous 12 mile mountainous horseshoe walk that links with High Street, the old Roman route that passes over the top of the mountains from North to South Cumbria. We will be happy to offer walk suggestions to you, whatever the make up of your group.
Did you know we are dog friendly holiday cottages? Your dogs will love these scenic walks as much as you do.
For families with little ones, there are still plenty of shorter walks that the whole family can enjoy.
