Had an amazing time.

Had an amazing time, the cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Mary promptly replied to any queries before our arrival and was at hand if we needed when we got there. I would definitely recommend and return. (Coach House)

Superb accommodation

Absolutely superb accommodation. Our host Mary was very helpful and friendly. She went to such a lot of trouble to make us feel at home. On arrival there was a beautiful flower arrangement and tea, coffee, milk and rocky roads for us to enjoy. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The location peaceful with glorious views. Mary was so responsive to our needs. We have a big dog and we were worried about being able to wash and dry her paws after a day in the countryside. Mary gave us access to her garden to wash our dog and provided us ample clean towels to dry our dog. She even provided us with beautiful rugs for our dog to lay on, to make us feel more comfortable. She provided us with all the information we needed about the local area to make the most of our stay. The location of the Air B&B was perfect with easy access to both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. As a family we would definitely recommend this property and thank Mary for making our visit so special.

An excellent place to stay!

My family and I visited the Lake District for a week and were looking for somewhere that gave us good access to the lakes and a peaceful place to come back to at the end of the day. The cottage provided us with exactly what we wanted: a nice, quiet village cottage with easy access to Windermere and the other lakes, while also having other attractions and places to eat nearby. Mary provided lots of useful information before we arrived, making the arrival process super relaxed, and was extremely nice and helpful throughout our trip. All in all, this is a really excellent place to stay and we would be happy to stay here again in the future! (Olde Blue Bell Cottage)

Every thing you need.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Mary's Coach House. The cottage is in the lovely quiet village of Hevershem, there is off road parking right outside. Tea, & coffee was waiting for us when we arrived. As other reviews mentioned the cottage has everything you need, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfy. Wifi is excellent. It's a great location for exploring this part of the lake district, Windemere, Ambleside, Brockhole and Kendal are all close by. Our kids really enjoyed playing at the play ground at the bottom of the road. Mary gave detailed instructions to find the cottage and we found it no problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation recommending to others. (Coach House)

Olde Bluebell Cottage

We are just home after a week at Olde Bluebell Cottage. Mary provides excellent information and recommendations before the trip, so we were able to do some research and not waste any time at all getting the most out of our holiday. The cottage itself if so cozy and well equipped, Mary has thought of everything to make it as homely as possible. We had a dog and 2 kids (9 and 6). The park is fantastic for the kids to burn some energy and the green just out side the cottage was great for the dog. Overall, couldn’t recommend the cottage as accommodation and Mary as host enough!

A peaceful setting.

We had a lovely week at this cottage. Several walks from this house, a peaceful setting and a few restaurants within a 10-minute drive. The cottage is suitable with a 2 year old child, there are dishes, a bed, a high chair and a playground opposite! We highly recommend this place. (Olde Blue Bell Cottage)

We had a great time!

We had a great time at Mary's place. Cozy and very clean, the Coach House is a house where we felt at home! Conveniently located we were able to discover the beautiful Lake District at our leisure. Available and very friendly, Mary was very good advice for our visits. It was a real pleasure to interact with her!

The Coach House

We stayed at the Coach House at the end of March and had a truly enjoyable stay in beautiful surroundings. Mary was so welcoming and a font of knowledge. The accommodation was all we could ask for, a real home from home, everything that was necessary for a perfect holiday. Would love to have stayed for a second week! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Thank you for your lovely review. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Coach House, and exploring this beautiful area. We hope we will see you again sometime. Mary

WoW!!!

I have just spent a week at Olde Bluebell Barn. It’s a lovely place and the pictures do not do it justice. I could quite easily live there. It is ideally located and is such a lovely place. Mary is very warm, friendly and helpful. I just cannot fault the accommodation and hope to return there very soon. Best place I have stayed in so far with the dog. Also the double bed is very comfortable. I was sad to leave.

Home from Home

This year was our fourth year back at Blue Bell Cottage, we had a wonderful holiday the cottage is conveniently located for easy access to the rest of the lakes. There are plenty of lovely walks close by if you don’t want to travel to far such as Sandside, Arnside, Levens Park and Dallam Park. There’s plenty of local pubs serving excellent food within a 10 minute drive the Hare and Hounds at Leven and the Watermill at Ings are both worth a visit. Mary is a gem nothing is to much trouble for her and she’s the font of all knowledge about the Lake District. We’ve already booked to come back next year and can’t wait our family and dogs love it!

Fantastic Cottage

Fantastic location just 8 minutes from M6 motorway with easy access to travel around the Lake District yet located in a lovely quiet village. Many lively walks within easy reach, great if like us you have a dog. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay including a lovely enclosed garden area with table and access to a BBQ, again great if you have a dog or small children. The cottage is very cosy with heating if needed, a new modern bathroom and well equipped kitchen. This is our fifth year staying in the cottage and the owner, Mary is absolutely lovely, nothing is any bother, she has become more of a friend over the years. Cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and great value too. Plenty of really good restaurants and pubs nearby and short joirney time to May places of interest such as Arnside, Kendal, Keswick and Lake Windemere. We’ll certainly be back again!

My husband and I have just spent three days/nights here and it was wonderful. The pictures of the cottage are fab but even they can’t do justice to how welcome and at home you feel when you walk through the door. The location is also fantastic because you feel remote, yet in just one mile you have a super restaurant, shops, pubs, butchers etc., and great local walks too (all thanks to Mary’s information folder!). We really felt spoilt for choice. A fantastic break that I wish had been longer!

The Coach House was perfect for our friend’s reunion weekend. Spacious but very warm and cosy so didn’t care about the weather outside!! Would definitely recommend to others

Well we just love it here. Stayed about 4 or 5 times now and in all weathers!! Hot, Snowy, rainy and perfect every time. Everything you could wish for, lovely walks, pubs, hiking , Shops close by, and most of all such a cosy well maintained cottage with a lovely hostess Mary to top it all, look forward to our next trip x x

Our grandson was immediately taken with the “upside down” cottage we loved the fantastic views. The cottage was warm, clean and well equipped and owners were very helpful and supplied plenty of local info within the cottage. We found it to be the perfect base for exploring, just so much to do every day. Our grandson Jack (4yrs) told us “It’s the best holiday ever” what more could you ask!

Just got back from a great week at the cottage, it’s in a good location with easy access to the rest of the Lakes, we visited Bowness on Windermere, Keswick, Kendal, Dallam and Levens Parks, Fell Foot and Arnside coastal walk, our dogs thoroughly enjoyed their holiday. Lovely walk 2 minutes away up to Heversham Head. Mary was really helpful so much information we were spoilt for choice where to visit first. Local pub 2 minutes’ walk away is great for an evening drink and wind down.

4 of us stayed in The Barn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location-wise, the local pub is only a five-minute walk away; the village centre only a five-minute drive. We took our Staffie with us and there were plenty of walks for us to enjoy. Accommodation-wise, the scenery from the lounge window was breath-taking. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. The welcome pack listed all local amenities including restaurants to takeaways and local attractions. Overall we were all very impressed 🙂

The Coach House, Stuart Pratt, February 2013
We stayed in the wonderful cottage for four nights, and can honestly say that the amenities and quality of accommodation was 5 star, everything you need for your stay is provided along with tea, coffee and other provisions provided by the owner Mary when you arrive. Location and surrounding area is perfect for Windermere and Arnside. Our children loved the cottage and will most definitely not be using any other accommodation as I believe this cannot be bettered.

We returned to the cottage after having stayed 10 years previous! The cottage has a fantastic view and is well equipped with all the home comforts, pets are very welcome and it is a great base for exploring the south lakes .the owners are nearby if you need any advice or information on days out. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We have just spent a week at The Coach House celebrating my wife’s parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay as the accommodation and location were excellent. The house is a credit to Mary and really does feel like a home from home. As for the location, this was our 1st visit to The Lakes and The Coach House gave us excellent access to all the beauty spots including Ambleside, Bowness etc. Kendal is also a stone’s throw away for all your shopping needs. We hope to return.
